Arthrosis and Arthritis: What is the difference?

Arthrosis and arthritis are diseases in which joints are affected.Since the names of these diseases are cuisine, many people have ideas about their identity.They consider these words to be synonymous words, suggest that it is the same disease.However, arthrosis and arthritis are far from the same, and there is a significant difference between it.To understand how arthrosis is different, let us know what these diseases are.

What is arthritis?

Arthritis is a collective term that means inflammation of any joints and most often more broad and serious pathological disorders in the body.That is, the disease is inflammatory and one and many can affect the joints.

There are many diseases with the development of arthritis:

• Arthritis;
• Gout;
• Rheumatoid arthritis;
• Systemic lupus erythematosus;
• Psoriasis;
• Hemharamatosis.

In addition, there are reactive arthritis that develop as a result of complications after infectious diseases:

• Fever;
• Syphilis;
• Gonorrhea;
• Mycoplasmosis;
• Chlamydia.

All these diseases are released in a separate group.

Inflammatory procedures for arthritis mainly affect the mucus shell, and the mucous fluid, causing a disease (synovitis).As a result, the amount of this liquid increases, which is interpreted by inflammation of the affected joints.The cartilage covering the bones surfaces is also inflamed, and over time the erosion that expresses the bone is formed on it.

What is arthrosis?

Arthrosis is a non -inflammatory dystrophic disease, which is associated with deformation and destruction of cartilage tissue inside the joint.Namely, pathological changes occur, which are manifested by the dystrophy of the bone surfaces of the lining.However, sometimes it is a long inflammatory process that causes thinning and damaging cartilage.Arthrosis is often seen in the elderly, as they wear cartilage tissue with age, and also have osteoporosis, which negatively affects the state of the entire auxiliary and motor system.

In some cases, arthrosis may occur at an early age in people who experience long loads on joints.This category includes athletes, obesity people or individuals whose professional activity leads to the acute wear of the assistant and motor system.

Symptoms of the disease are caused by violations of cartilage functions, as they are thin and deformed, growing bone tissue, which leads to the disability of the depreciation of the joint -forming bones and complete performance of friction.As a result, the amount of mucus fluid decreases, which should cover articular surfaces.

Common causes of arthrosis and arthritis development

Since arthrosis and arthritis affect joints, and in general, the entire aids is the motor system, these diseases develop as a result of many factors.

Let's look at the ten reasons that cause these diseases:

• Hereditary factor;
• Metabolism violations;
• Immune factor (especially for arthritis);
• Congenital diseases of connective and bone tissue;
• Combined injuries;
• Excess weight, obesity;
• Excessive physical activity;
• Unbalanced diet;
• Hypothermia;
• Infection.

These are common causes that can cause both arthritis and arthrosis.But this is where their equality ends.In addition, there is only difference in diseases.

Symptoms of development of arthritis and arthrosis

Causes arthritis:

• An unbalanced, monotonous nutrition, which causes a violation of metabolic processes and immunity (poor nutrition provokes the development of infectious diseases, and their agents enter the mucus fluid and cause arthritis);
• Strong hypothermia of the joint (overnight in the tent, bathing in cold water, poor poor shoes and clothes);
• Any injury (stretching, brooz or fracture);
• Smoking and obesity;
• A sedentary lifestyle.

Causes of arthrosis:

• Hereditary factor;
• Elderly age;
• Injuries;
• Metabolism.

Previously, primary (when the cause of the disease was unknown) and secondary (when the cause was known) phase in the development of arthrosis.As more advanced clinical methods develop, primary stage was called in question, because in all cases the main reason for the development of arthrosis is carbohydrate metabolism and metabolic disorder in the form of iron enzymes.Therefore, arthrosis can result in arthritis, because the dystrophy of the mucus fluid is nothing more than a metabolic disorder.In diastrophic processes, the blood circulation of the joint is disturbed, leading to a decline in nutrition and destruction of cartilage.

What is the difference between arthritis from arthrosis

Let's see how arthrosis is different.Since arthritis and arthrosis often affect the same joints, then, despite this, localization of the pathological process still has some patterns:

1. Arthrosis often develops on large joints of the lower ends (ankle, knee, hip).In addition, the pathological process develops only in a joint.Throughout life, all these joints experience very large loads, so it is not surprising that they wear and destroy due to destructive processes.Rarely Arthrosis affects the joints of the thumb, hand and intervertebral joints.
2. With arthritis, the joints are affected by one -one, that is, the disease is characterized by "flight".Suppose the wrist joint was swollen on one day, on the other - elbow, on the third - the shoulder joint.In addition, many asymmetric joints can occur at once.

In addition to specific localization of the pathological process, symptoms have a difference between arthritis and arthrosis:

1. With arthritis, there is pain at night, when a person relaxes.And in the morning, the patient feels characteristic harshness in the affected joints.To remove hardness, they have to develop joints.Some patients interpret these phenomena as an ideal, forget that healthy people do not require joint development after sleep.Their joints are always mobile and functional.With arthrosis, such rigidity is not seen.
2. In the case of arthrosis, everything happens in another way.Relaxed, the patient gets relief, as the pain only occurs when it becomes more intense with a walking and significant motor activity.Sometimes, with arthrosis, pain can also occur at night, but they are associated with the fact that the patient changes the position of the affected organs in a dream, which causes pain.
3. The presence of a joint with arthritis and arthrosis also varies.With arthritis, metacarpal palanx joints (convex bones of a compressed fist) are cheerful and cheerful, blush and warm (local temperature rises).With arthrosis, such symptoms are not seen, the joint looks absolutely normal.Of course, in the future, the development of osteophytes (bone growth on joints) can result in a joint deformation, but even in this case there are no symptoms of arthritis.But with arthrosis, a crunch is seen in the affected joint, which is not with arthritis.

This should be noted the normal condition of patients in these diseases.With arthritis, a person, in addition to pain in the joint, feels weakness, a normal nature disease: heroic temperature, chills, headache, loss of appetite, loss of body weight.With arthrosis, the problem is only in a non -functional and painful addition, and common symptoms are not seen.

It should be noted that arthritis often leads to arthrosis, when the joint is destroyed and modified as a result of inflammation, and its mobility is also disturbed.However, with arthrosis, the inflammatory process is seen in the joints.Understanding the diagnosis is not so simple, you need to find out the root cause of development of these diseases.Arthritis, as a rule, is against the background of infections entering the joint tissue, and in the case of arthrosis, the joint deformation is caused by injury, in old age.Of course, sometimes inflammation may be involved, but it does not always occur.

Differential diagnosis of arthritis and arthritis

To find out what causes problems with the joint, it is necessary to conduct the difference diagnosis.This diagnosis includes the following clinical trials:

1. General blood tests.
2. General urine analysis;
3. Biochemical blood tests;
4. Ramen test;
5. Autoimmune criteria (blood tests for antibodies);
6. X -rays of affected joints;
7. Examination of synonyms;
8. Radioceotopic scanning of the skeleton (in some cases);
9. Computed tomography (CT);
10. Magnetic - resonance tomography (CT or MRI).

Blood tests for arthritis and arthrosis

For adequate diagnosis of articular diseases, this process is mandatory and necessary.In the case of arthrosis, the clinical picture of blood does not change at all, it can only increase ROE (reaction of erythrocyte settlements) up to 28–30 mm, usually with complexity- synovitis.With arthritis, the blood picture changes completely: leukocytes grow up to 14,000, an innings of leukocyte formulas on the left, level C - reactive protein (CRB) and ROE grows to 40 - 80 mm.

C - Jet in the blood

For differential diagnosis, a biochemical blood test should be performed.With arthritis, some immunoglobulin, seromeucoid and C - increased inflammation of reactive proteins, which are not seen with arthrosis.The exact factor diagnosed with the level of inflammatory process in articular diseases is considered C -reactive protein (CRB).Since the mucous fluid reacts with enhancing protein to inflammatory and emerging inflammation with autoimmune processes in the body, its levels are 10 mg/L and higher.Compared to healthy people whose reactive protein in the blood does not exceed 0.002 g/L.Thus, the increased level of reactive protein in blood plasma indicates the growth of arthritis.

C - Reactive protein (CRB) is a protein of a quick phase that is synthesized in the liver.Activates the body's immune response to an inflammatory factor invasion.After 24 hours, the reactive protein level in plasma increases ten times.With adequate treatment, the protein quickly decreases to normal indicators.With arthrosis in the patient's blood, reactive protein indicators remain normal.

X -ray of affected joints

This clinical method is the second most effective after clinical blood test.In this case, arthrosis is accurately diagnosed, as the degree of bone deformation can be determined on the radiograph by the width of the combined difference.For arthritis, this method is not important, although it is definitely determined as a clinical technique.However, this method is incomplete, as the picture cannot be seen in the picture to loss and degree of destruction of cartilage tissue.

Difference in the treatment of arthritis and arthrosis

There are different causes and mechanisms of the development of arthritis and arthrosis, so their treatment is slightly different.

With arthritis, it is necessary to identify the cause of inflammation development and neutralize it as soon as possible.If there is an infectious etiology in the occurrence of arthritis, antibiotics are prescribed to the patient.With the autoimmune origin of the disease, cytostatics and hormones are prescribed, and with arthritis with arthritis, it is necessary to improve uric acid in the body, therefore, drugs are treated by hypominating.

With arthrosis, treatment aims to restore cartilage tissue and return of joint functions.Therefore, treatment is performed by chondroprotectors, hyaluronic acid, physiotherapy, sanitary -reorcorous treatment, massage and physiotherapy exercises.

Since both arthritis and arthrosis are accompanied by a pronounced pain syndrome, non -sector -inflammatory drugs serve as a pain reliever for internal and external uses (tablets and ointments), with these diseases.Such drugs not only effectively eliminate pain, but also reduce the symptoms of inflammation.

In the treatment of these diseases, both orthodox treatment and surgical therapy are used.It all depends on the levels and scale of articular lesions.As a rule, this drug is treatment and prosthetics.

Since the patient's chronic arthritis and very facts of arthrosis increases the chances of acute relayPs, the purpose of therapeutic strategy should be aimed at preventing and preventing relaxes.The following treatment has been prescribed for this:

1. Use of non -storoidal anti -inflammatory drugs (NSAID).The drugs of this group effectively eliminate signs of inflammation, especially with arthritis, but always in the therapeutic premises and with arthrosis.
2. Rapid eradication of muscle cramps that occur in the muscles adjacent to the joint.Thus, access to drugs, nutrients and oxygen is provided.
3. Generalization of metabolic reactions.This is possible only after stopping the inflammatory process.
4. Withdrawal from the joint of uric acid salts (if we are talking about violations of metabolic processes).
5. Generalization of acid - alkaline metabolism.

Modern medicine has been successful in the treatment of arthritis and arthrosis, but despite this, not every case of arthritis or arthrosis ends with full success.

To achieve success in the treatment of these diseases is to remove the metabolic processes and the normalization of acid -clain balance, to remove the inflammation of the spasm of the joint and muscle.As a result of these functions, joint complete nutrition, starts obtaining oxygen and restore metabolic processes.

Traditional medicine dishes are very effective in complex treatment of arthritis and arthrosis.Their use in this format is also approved by official medicine.It should be immediately noted that medicinal herbs are only one supportive measures in the fight against these diseases.Therefore, before proceeding with folk remedies, you should fail to seek recommendations to the attending physician.

Food for arthritis and arthrosis

All joints of joints, without exception, require special diet nutrition.Since the symptoms of arthritis affect the entire organism, in some cases its course is complicated by severe disorders in the heart, kidney and liver, and arthrosis can stabilize the patient, lead disability and thus reduce its quality of life, all forces are required to combat these diseases.

In terms of articular pathology, the body should receive all the essential nutrients, vitamins and minerals with a certain prejudice.Products are noticed by normalizing metabolic reactions and normal balance of acid -caalin balance.

General nutrition recommendations may be as follows:

• Limit the consumption of red meat (pork, beef, lamb, venison, horse);
• Rejection of large amounts of fat and trans fats products;
• Complete rejection of alcohol;
• Give preference to low fish and seafood;
• Eat a large number of vegetables, fruits and herbs (in any form);
• Consumption of dishes based on cartilage: flood, jelly, jam;
• Abundant drinking rule;
• Take diet supplements with calcium, vitamin A, D and group V.

General Prevention of Arthritis and Arthrosis

In the treatment of arthritis and arthrosis, therapeutic strategy involves preventing and preventing arthritis and arthrosis.After all, it is easier to warn about the treatment of the disease.Therefore, there are similar principles in the prevention of these diseases:

1. Avoid hypothermia (leg joints) of the feet.After all, this is the way that is the main thing in infections with the increase of chronic diseases and viral infections.
2. Timely relief of chronic diseases (tonsillitis, sinusitis, bronchitis).
3. Uncomfortable high -bound shoes refusal.Unknown shoes form an additional load on the joints, which leads to their destruction, deformation and hyphens, and resulting in as a result of arthrosis.
4. Fight against extra weight.Additional weight is a sign of metabolic disorders, and arthritis almost always against the background of such violations.
5. Medium physical activity.Heavy work loads pressure and loads on the joint, resulting in destroying and swollen.
6. Be sure to follow a healthy lifestyle: often move in the air, relax and eat, attach to physiotherapy practice, see a doctor regularly.

Physical physical education for arthritis and arthrosis is a very important part of therapy in a compartment with massage, diet therapy and physiotherapy.It provides joints in the throat with nutrients and oxygen, and cannot be recovered and restored without it.
